The Warrant Office is responsible for maintenance of arrest warrants issued by the Circuit Courts, District Courts, and Grand Jury of Montgomery County, Alabama.  The Sheriff’s Office maintains a record of all warrants in a records management system. The system is updated when warrants are issued, recalled, or served.

The Sheriff’s Office has a detail that is tasked with the service of warrants. Additionally, there are two deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force which is tasked with the service of warrants for violent crimes.

The Sheriff’s Office also maintains a physical copy of each warrant we receive. It is the responsibility of the Sheriff’s Office to enter warrants in the State and Nation Crime Information System. This allows for the apprehension of wanted persons in other jurisdictions.
