Mail addressed to individuals incarcerated in the Detention Facility should be addressed as follows:

                                                Inmate's Name and Booking Number

All incoming mail must also contain:

• a return address
       (including name, street address, city, state and zip code)  
  
• Incoming mail not properly addressed will be destroyed
  
• Correspondence received with “Postage Due” will be returned to sender.

**All incoming mail is opened (not read) and searched for contraband**

            Examples of Contraband:

•     Money
•     Checks
•     Inappropriate photos
•     Matches
•     Lighters
•     Cigarettes
•     Jewelry
•     Chewing gum
•      Cash and checks (both personal and business) are considered contraband and will not be delivered to inmates.  All money with the exception of
       money orders or cashier's checks will be returned to sender. 

Money Orders

•       Money orders and/or cashier’s checks (no cash or personal checks) may be deposited into the inmate’s account
        Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, excluding holidays
•       Money orders or cashier’s checks should be made payable to MCITF 
•       Inmates are not allowed to have money in their possession
