| The Criminal Patrol Division has 3 Lieutenants, 6 Sergeants, and 48 Deputy Sheriffs who are assigned to 3 shifts. The Criminal Patrol Division also utilizes the assistance from 7 specially trained canines for explosive and narcotic detection as well as officer protection, apprehension, and tracking. Patrol Deputies are the first responders who work throughout the county, assisting the citizens and enforcing the law. Promoting good community relations between the Sheriff’s Office and the public that it serves is a constant priority to the personnel assigned to this division. Because patrol is the division that never sleeps, it is often referred to as the backbone of the department. Patrol is the only division, of the Sheriff's Office, that operates twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. |
