Several years ago, Sheriff Marshall, while working in the Detective Division at the Montgomery Police Department saw the need to assist family members who had loved ones that suffered from Alzheimer’s and other related mental disorders, whereby they wander away from home. He felt law enforcement should have a way to locate them and return them home safely. He wanted a way to recognize these individuals upon contact, so law enforcement would know that they were memory impaired and needed help.  After having long discussions about this illness and wanting to do something before it was to late, Project Lifesaver was brought to the table.  Using state of the art technology, to track these individuals, helps us return them home safely. We will issue bracelets to every registered person with a personal identification number (PIN).
